Department of Bengali

Department of Bengali has been commenced since the beginning of the college i.e in September 2013 with only one full- time teacher. But within a short period, gradually other teachers joined and at now the department in running with three years of students and three full-time teachers.The intake capacity of the students in the department was 25 in the initial year which from the next year, had been enhanced to 31.So the total number of students in all the three years are around 85 now.The current third year students who had appeared in B.A. Part 1 & Part 2 in the year 2014 & 2015 respectively, have achieved a consistently good results like 1st class. The second year students also progressed more in their Part1 examination, by achieving 1st class in a larger number. In the year 2016, the department will get it’s 1st batch of graduates, expecting many in the top merit list.

Intake Capacity:31(Thirty One)

Library: The department is trying to enrich the Library with essential Text Books along with the Reference books. At present, there are 515 books with 452 titles (related to the Bengali honours & general course) in the college library.

Other activities: The teachers, who have excellent academic records, research experiences & large number of publications, are encouraging the students in both the academic & co-curricular activities. Students also,with great enthusiasm, are taking part in that. They have arranged a departmental seminar, created a periodic wall- magazine named ‘ATHOI’, played important role till date in different cultural programs like RabindraJayanti, Basantotsab, Freshers Welcome etc.
